Maxar in Ypsilanti, Michigan has a long history of research and development in the field of signal and image processing. Our projects range from scientific computing to full-stack development and 3D visualization. The work we do is challenging, innovative, and rewarding. We are seeking students interested in learning and applying software skills as a contributor to a number of growing programs.
Expected start: April 2023
Expected hours: 10 hours per week
You will be integrated into a project team, receiving mentoring and guidance from current team members. You will be exposed to the technology and tools that we employ in developing our software applications which may include:
Algorithm development in MATLAB, Python, C++ or Java
Working at the pixel level to form image products
Finding and improving detection of objects
Improving software by fixing bugs, automated test scripts, memory/speed optimizations
Developing tools to view or analyze outputs, benchmark, or measure quality
Full stack development, Web apps/WebGL, database queries
Requirements Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant software or engineering field
Ability to work on-site
Desired Qualifications:
Able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
Experience with C++ or Java, OOP
Version control: Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket)
Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidateโs unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$21.27 - $35.44 hourly.
