As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing & Materials team, you will operate laser powder bed fusion machines and related equipment to produce rocket engine components for Ursa Major’s products. This role demands a high attention to detail, a hands-on self-starter mentality, and desire to grow & contribute to Ursa’s mission in a small team environment. Your contributions will enable the future of advanced manufacturing for rocket propulsion systems.
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain laser powder bed fusion and other machine tools
Operate and program machines including: Wire EDM, unpacking station, sieve, bead blast station
Ensure machine changeovers are completed with high quality and according to standard operating procedures
Handle metal powder recycling equipment (conveyers, sieves) and maintain powder quality throughout lifecycle
Perform post-processing activities such as powder removal, support removal, part cut off, and part finishing including hands on metal deburring
Systematically identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machine or process issues that arise in a complex manufacturing environment
Complete preventative maintenance activities and work with OEMs to schedule necessary service
Maintain machine maintenance spares and all related consumables
Prepare outgoing shipments and coordinate delivery for incoming orders
