The Role:

The Senior Manager, FP&A will be responsible for the corporate consolidated business planning and forecasting processes within MDA Ltd.  This role will also lead the monthly reporting and variance analysis for the consolidated outlooks of all operating business plans across MDA Ltd. This role works closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis roles within MDA’s 3 Business Areas, as well as, business partnering with corporate stakeholders to ensure that the department plans, and forecasts are complete and align with the corporate strategy and business objectives.

What success looks like:

  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Business Results reports, including analysis to support monthly business reviews, shareholder meetings, and ad hoc requests, in order to enable decision making by key stakeholders of the organization
  • Manage consolidation, analysis and reporting of monthly/quarterly and YTD P&L and Cashflow financial results and metrics
  • Support the Senior Director, FP&A in the business planning and forecasting process across the organization including identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Along with direct reports, act as key finance Business Partner for all corporate and shared services cost centres and Business Areas to ensure accuracy and understanding of annual budgets and monthly re-forecasts
  • Determine key planning inputs and document all key business assumptions for the corporate plan and quarterly forecasts
  • Prepare 5-year Plan pro-forma financial statements, cash flow analysis and capital requirements linked to MDA Ltd. Strategic Growth Plan
  • Help to drive Capital Budgeting & Forecasting process across the organization
  • Provide support and develop analytical models for MDA Ltd. M&A activity
  • Provide support for quarterly MD&A and Board reporting/presentations
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required

What you bring to the role:

  • At least 6 years of progressive relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, ideally in a comparable industry
  • Strong Business Partner experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to self-manage and influence others to meet strict deadlines
  • Sound judgment and ability to challenge status quo
  • Ability to lead team of direct reports(2), creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, teamwork and continuous improvement
  • Results Driven, Detail-orientation with an ability to see the big picture
  • Strong internal customer service focus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • ERP System experience, ERPLN experience an asset
  • Strong Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel skills
  • University or College level education in Business or Accounting
  • CPA (CA, CMA, CGA or equivalent designate), or CFA

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
