Summary

This is a Remote position, which requires some occasional travel to office (located in Littleton, CO) or other customer sites. 

We currently have an opportunity for a Sr. Software Engineer. In this role you will assist in the design, development, and implementation of software, generate CI/CD pipelines and develop distributed solutions in a cloud-based environment. The senior software engineer engages with management, development teams, technical delivery teams, and customers to ensure the successful design, development, and delivery of technology-based solutions, with a focus on digital engineering processes and procedures, and developing solutions for space-based applications. The applicant will be expected to fulfill a leadership position in guiding, instructing, and mentoring other junior engineers in software best practices, policies and procedures, and task management a current Top Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Developing software based on customer requirements.
• Developing CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based distribution solutions
• Serving as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams.
• Providing on-site operational support, implementation guidance and special test activities.
• Overseeing the development of user documentation.
• Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle which includes software requirements, design, development, integration, test, and maintenance
• Assisting in task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing.
• Communicating key project data to team members and management
• Applying best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Creating innovative solutions to meet our company’s technical needs.
• Developing and testing DevSecOps solutions
• Mentoring junior engineers through advice, coaching, and occasional training opportunities

Ideal Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering, science, software engineering, or other related field
• Experience with multiple programming languages including C++ and Python preferred
• Experience with Git or similar version control tools
• Previous experience with software development and software test principles
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or similar containerization tools
• Must be U.S. Citizen and have an active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI
• Minimal travel required

Desired Skills

• Preferred 5+ years of experience in software engineering, software development, or a related field
• Experience working and developing in a cloud environment
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Linux-base open-source development programs
• Familiarity with RMF
• Experience setting up test and development environments
• Familiarity with the aerospace industry
• Familiarity with Agile Processes
• Experience working with real time operating systems
• Experience with cloud architecture
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties
• Capable of maintaining a clear focus in a dynamic, real-time environment
• Must be results-oriented, with the ability to change priorities as needed
• Self-motivated; performs tasks with minimal oversight
• Experience in a multi-discipline environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to professionally communicate and coordinate with a wide range of external program sponsors as well as internal management
• Sound time management skills, attention to detail, and priority management to meet deadlines

Pay Range
$100- $140K

How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire Space determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.  Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
