We want a leader for the management of design engineers and programmers tasked with driving production results. This team owns the process specific designs and programming activities related to Metallic 3D printing for various spaceflight systems. Share in the team’s impact on developing new geometries, material, innovating programming, customer support, and informative activities. They will serve as the interface between program requirements and manufacturing. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight for the benefit of Earth.

  • Lead teams in all aspects of new printed part, support designs for the Laser Powder Bed (LPB) manufacturing process. Build and improve a catalog of support design patterns, which can be applied across classes of parts develop and optimize part designs.
  • Work with our business units to educate engineers on (DfAM) design for additive manufacturing rules applicable to LPB.
  • Mentor team through part and support development while in the initial stages and deliver production ready files for serial fabrication.
  • Build relationships with external suppliers so as to assess software related to the LPB processes. Help vet new software packages and evaluate updates to existing ones with our process teams.
  • Own printed model definition and release process for the as-printed geometry and release the support design models in a timely manner to support the production schedule.
  • Train your engineers to perform analysis of LPB printed parts using simulation software and analysis tools to inform the design cycle.
  • Help educate team on 3D scan geometric evaluations of post-printed parts and incorporate this information back into the part development cycle to improve print fidelity.
  • Facilitate collaboration of inter department teams for defining manufacturing and business processes definitions, documentation, production planning, and lessons learned. Understand current and future demand related to Additive manufactured hardware across all sites.
  • Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances are identified and deploy corrective actions.


  • Leadership experience with growing organizations and diverse workforce.
  • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience with emphasis in Operation Management or Manufacturing Engineering and progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Tangible experience working in Metallic Additive Manufacturing and designing sophisticated geometry and supports of LPB hardware.
  • Strong design and integration skills using 3-D CAD (Creo) software and visualization tools (Magics, MSC, ANSYS)
  • Strong written and personal digital literacy.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


  • Advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or Operations.
  • Aerospace and rocket engine development experiences.
  • Experience with EOS, Concept Laser, SLM Solutions and Additive Industries based LPB machines.
