As an Operations Manager II, you'll support the development of the strategic goals for one or more areas in operations by overseeing and managing manufacturing operations, production control, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, inventory control, and materials functions, such as purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities. You'll improve technologies, and resolve problems in conjunction with manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering. Your duties will also include translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products, developing operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedure and ensuring the operations environment is safe and in compliance with all regulations in regards to the production facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications
  • Forecasts, allocates, ands supervises the resources for facility management (personnel and financial)
  • Oversees facility, equipment, and infrastructure maintenance
  • Conducts and documents facility and equipment periodic maintenance & repairs
  • Responsible for the installation, operation, and checkout of new equipment
  • Management and coordination with Space Florida on existing and future leases, tenant improvements, and new development

Must-haves:

  • Experience working with private-government entities, such as Space Florida
  • Bachelor's degree related field of study
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for required education
  • Thorough understanding of and experience with the practical application of production/manufacturing principles, techniques and best practices
  • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
  • Progressive experience with materials management systems
  • Previous supervisory experience; the ability to recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence

Preferred:

  • Typicallyย 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six-sigma, and/or Theory of Constraints Manufacturing Principles
  • Understanding of Assembly, Integration and Test practices
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Estimated Starting Salary Range:ย  $109,592 - $164,389

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
