What do we do?

ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time - even when it's cloudy or dark - providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

What are we looking for?

In order to support the growth of the company and facilitate the everyday work of the Missions Department, we are looking for an AIT R&D Engineer Intern. The internship can be between 3 to 6 months depending on your availability.

The Role

As an AIT R&D Engineer Intern you will get the opportunity to work closely alongside engineers from the AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing) team who are building the ICEYE's SAR microsatellites.


In this internship, you would work closely with and report directly to the AIT Team Leader (R&D) on a wide range of AIT and R&D matters. Just some of the tasks that you personally would be responsible for include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work on harness Bill of Material
  • Work on harness specifications
  • Work on inventory
  • Creating the automation for harness parts list

Who You are:


  • Relevant qualifications, e.g. a university or college degree in Space, Satellite, Electrical, Electronics, or Software Engineering or some other technical engineering background
  • Must have good skills with Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proactive, responsible attitude
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • A good team player
  • A passion for engineering and the space and satellite sector


  • Experience in IT skills to write the scripts to automate some of AIT processes - e.g. Python or Linux experience, is considered an advantage.
  • JIRA Knowledge/Experience is useful to have
