Maxar is currently seeking a Manager of Revenue Accounting to join our team in Westminster, CO. The Revenue Manager is a member of a highly collaborative Maxar Intelligence accounting team reporting to the Segment Controller. In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to preparing journal entries, overseeing the revenue function, analyzing technical accounting aspects of contracts, coordinating with sales and finance for contracts, completing account reconciliations and supporting the month end and quarter end close processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the SAP RAR function for revenue recognition

  • Build out process improvements / efficiencies within role

  • Preparation of journal entries (including compilation of pertinent backup support) for assigned areas, which will include analysis of several complex revenue contracts

  • Preparation of reconciliations/analyses to support the accuracy of ending balances of the general ledger accounts that the position is responsible for; this will also include review of SAP transaction details, legacy reports, analyses of fluctuations including unusual/irregular transactions.

  • Build cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders including Sales, Finance, Intercompany, Billing, Operations, Internal audit, Technical accounting, FP&A, etc.

  • Understand the of the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act related to internal controls over financial reporting. Responsible for maintaining compliance, documenting performance of key controls and update procedures documentation.

  • Support external audits by facilitating the provision of data to external auditors and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner

  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and documentation.

  • Create and maintain desk procedures for all processes

  • Special Project assignments - Support and or participate on special projects

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree can substitute for two years of experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience or 5 years of relevant accounting experience outside of public accounting

  • Knowledge of accounting and U.S. GAAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with close cycle at a public company

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP System

  • Knowledge over the RAR module within SAP

  • Experience with SOX and internal controls 

  • Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environment

  • Ability to work well in a team and with people in other functions and locations 

  • Ability to oversee a business function

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.

The compensation range for this position is $90,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually, dependent on skills and experience. This position is also eligible for a bonus plan.
