Maxar is seeking a Financial Analyst to work within our Program Finance Department. This position will support a satellite program office, and will manage and oversee day-to-day financial planning processes, including monthly reporting, EAC tracking and contract position. The Finance Operations team works closely with the CFO and senior executives to execute programs, and support the functional organizations.


  • Work with Program manager, Business Managers, Control Account Managers and Resource Managers to support the program financials

  • Support baselining process for new program implementation and contract modifications

  • Support the monthly financial cycle, including weekly reviews of performance and potential EAC changes

  • Analyze EAC variances and impact to P&L

  • Maintain accurate accounting of Contract Value and Program Milestones

  • Manage program risks and opportunities

  • Manage program reserves

  • Perform monthly variance analysis to help identify risks and opportunities

  • Build knowledge of Maxar Spaceโ€™s business to become key financial business partner. Translate and interpret financial data into operational recommendations to improve and accelerate the business

  • Support Maxar Spaceโ€™s Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes

  • Provide ad hoc financial modeling and financial analysis

  • Support special projects and process improvements within the Finance organization

ย Minimum Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Perm Resident required

  • BS in Finance/Accounting/Economics

  • Minimum of 5 years of overall experience, with at least 3 years in a Financial Analyst role.

  • Superior analytical skills, combined with excellent business judgment and strong ability to clearly and concisely communicate with management level personnel

  • Very strong skills with Excel and other MS office applications

  • Active team player and works well under pressure

  • Organized, detail oriented individual with ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy of information

  • Integrity with confidential information

  • Creativity in solving complex problems

  • Ability to work independently in support of team objectives

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management concepts and metrics

Preferred Requirements:

  • Commercial and/or Government Program finance experience

  • Government proposal experience

  • Experience with SAP S4, SAC and Tableau
