Mechanical Systems Structural Analyst

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers you will be responsible for structural analysis of launch vehicle hardware including landing gear, control surfaces, mechanisms and hydraulic system components for multiple spaceflight systems. You will share in the teams impact on all aspects of structural integrity throughout the entire product lifecycle, including concept design, testing and flight operations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Experience with structural analysis of mechanical systems
• Demonstrated experience with launch vehicles, aircraft or automotive applications
• Experience with classical strength analysis methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, Shigley etc.)
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis, including creating, analyzing and troubleshooting models.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

• Experience with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics
• Experience with mechanisms, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Experience with vibration analysis techniques
• Familiarity with aerospace industry structural analysis standards
• Demonstrated process automation experience using scripting tools (VBA, Matlab, Python etc)
• Experience with one or more of the following analysis software: Ansys, Hypermesh, Femap, Abaqus, Nastran / Patran
