Kepler is on a Mission to bring the internet to space. Incorporated in 2015, Kepler’s guiding star is to enable the space economy through the creation of a communication network in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) that will provide connectivity services to other space missions, be they on orbit in LEO, MEO, GEO, or beyond.Β  With an expanding base of early customers and our first 15 satellites in orbit, Kepler is continuing to grow and expand its most important asset – the Team! Based out of our HQ in Toronto and with an office in the UK and a newly formed office in the US we are building towards a truly global company delivering a product for the whole world.

We are on the hunt for an experienced Design Assurance engineer. You will have experience with electronic parts, material & process selection, failure analysis, design for manufacturing and mission & quality assurance to drive our mission forward and maintain our upward trajectory of success and growth.

Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion; you are flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment.

Here is a little more detail on what you can expect to work on:

Vertically integrated missions that span hardware and RF designs, software networks, satellite constellation management tools and ultimately stellar customer service.Β 

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical advice about the suitability of electronic parts, materials and process used in the design of Space based hardware.
  • Diagnosing and leading failure investigations at a unit and sub-system level.
  • Overseeing design quality, configuration management and control procedures.
  • Working with suppliers, designers, and manufacturing to ensure design adherence and compatibility.
  • Generating supplier documentation.
  • Undertaking relevant research into emerging materials & processes and disseminating to multi-disciplinary teams. Β 
  • Generating and maintaining manufacturing processes guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, in engineering or technical field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in PMP engineering, Quality and Manufacturing in a high reliability environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Six Sigma experience
