Maxar is currently seeking an Electromechanical Technician to join our team in Pasadena, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication of electromechanical components and assemblies, verification of floor stock inventory, housekeeping, HAZMAT, and safety while interfacing daily with engineering and quality personnel.
Stage, set-up, assemble, test, and install electronics equipment as required
Working knowledge (but limited to) soldering, torque process, mate / de-mate, ESD requirements, and their respective process specification (NASA, JPL etc.).
Troubleshooting various electromechanical components.
Providing comment on engineering drawings and processes
Collaborate with other technician, Mfg. Eng. and Engineers to continuously improve processes and product
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an safe, efficient and effective work environment
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Understanding of Lean Mfg. principles.
Molding/potting and shielding.
Torque Certified, NASA 8739, J STD 001 – Space Addendum, IPC 620
Understanding of MS Office
Work knowledge of the manufacturing processes for wire harnesses, and electromechanical components & assemblies
Ability to determine methods & sequences of operations
Well-developed skill in communicating with others
Ability to perform basic math
Understanding of FOD Area, HAZMAT controls, working with Space Hardware
Strong understanding of procedures / drawings and attention to detail
Understand the operation of various types of test equipment (i.e. Digital Volt Meters)
