THE MISSION**

As a Launch Pad Project Manager at Isar Aerospace you will build the company’s first Launch Pad for the Spectrum rocket. Not only that, with this project you will establish mainland Europe’s first access to orbit. Situated in Munich you will lead a small development team of young and international engineers with different backgrounds towards a sound and performant launch pad design within the legal framework. You will coordinate requirements and change requests with internal and external stakeholders. You will plan and coordinate manufacturing, build-up and commissioning and assist the local team for initial operations on site. Towards the end of the current project, you will be assigned projects of similar size and complexity in different time- and climate-zones.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead a team of engineers in a tight timeline and work across teams on the Launch Pad functional design
  • Follow requirements given by launch vehicle design team
  • Ensure a viable process design (Fluids, Electrical systems, communication and control networks)
  • Supervise creation of CAD and technical/manufacturing drawings
  • Guide and supervise the procurement process working with the dedicated department
  • Coordinate your own and supporting teams as well as suppliers for successful and punctual manufacturing and build-up
  • Have safety documentation issued and certification procedures performed according to applicable law
  • Plan and perform commissioning activities
  • Externally, interface with civil engineering subcontractors, Andøya Space Center, notified bodies and consultants
  • Contribute to the hiring and training process of the Ground Operations Team for the Launch pad Andøya
  • Assist the Launch Site responsible by defining Launch Pad milestones and timeline as well as issuing supporting documentation for overall launch system acceptance

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE

Musts:

  • A degree in mechanical, civil or space engineering or an equivalent qualification
  • Know-how and at least 2 years of work experience in the following fields: Systems engineering, Project Management, Test Operations, Construction Projects
  • Excellent work ethic and communication skills in English language
  • Extremely fast grasp of technical problems and sound trade-offs for design solutions
  • Reliable coordinator between stakeholders and engineers
  • Passionate about new space, curious and eager to learn
  • Driven to deliver and constantly push the boundaries
  • Take ownership and accountability for your own actions and mistakes
  • Humble and willing to go out of your way to help others
  • Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills

Nice-to-haves:

  • Prior hands-on mechanical and/or electrical Design & Test experience

  • Prior hands-on experience with cryogenic and high-pressure gas systems

  • Work experience in the petrochemical industry

  • Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software

  • Good Norwegian language skills

  • Experience in the space sector
