Redwire - Goleta, CA, is accelerating humanity's expansion into space as the leading developer and provider of satellite mechanisms, deployable structures and booms and deployable solar array systems to the global space market. The company's key products include deployable solar array systems, deployable structural and mechanical systems and supporting subsystems. This includes the award-winning and patented Roll-Out Solar Array, which NASA will use to upgrade the International Space Station's solar arrays later this year. 

We have a current opportunity for a Production Planner, Staff with 2-4 years of experience to join our team in Goleta, CA. The Production Planner helps to manage all aspects of production and material throughout the product life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule usage of materials to ensure optimal production levels
  • Write and maintain manufacturing orders, work instructions and other documentation
  • Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage
  • Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory
  • Address issues regarding quality and production
  • Produce reports based on findings and performance of production
  • Manage deadlines based on project expectations
  • Schedule program and identify potential conflicts 
  • Add, cancel or make changes to documentation and notify key stakeholders
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts between programs
  • Produce and process schedules and reports as they are requested by quality, program, operations, general and engineering managers
  • Schedule the manufacturing production or transfer (i.e. trucking) of product

Ideal Experience

  • 4-year college degree in business, supply chain, operations, logistics and planning or relevant field from an accredited university. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. 
  • At least 2-4 years prior experience working in an Aerospace planning setting in a similar position
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office 365
  • ERP and MRP knowledge 
  • Ability to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Desired

  • Lean Six Sigma White, Yellow or Green Belt 
  • Ability to work from diagrams, drawings, and detailed procedures.
  • Experience working within the Material Control group. 
  • 5S knowledge 
  • Ability to take direction from multiple sources and manage time to meet daily milestones as well as satisfy longer term commitments to support projects.
  • Ability to travel – an average of 15% travel may be required. Most of the travel is local but some overnight travel may be required

Pay range: 

$69,000 - $85,000/year

How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.  Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
