Summary

Redwire Space Components group is developing its next generation of flight cameras and star trackers. We have a current opportunity for a Software Process QA Engineer located at our facility in Marlborough, MA. In this role you will be working with the development team to establish and maintain our software development and verification processes. You will be responsible for overseeing software development and system testing to ensure all development and test activity are compliant to established processes. In addition, you will work with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure that our processes drive value, by ensuring quality decisions are appropriate within the framework of Redwire’s compliance certifications and customer quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee software development and testing to ensure processes and activity are compliant to Redwire, customer, and industry standards and requirements
  • Conduct or facilitate reviews of product documentation to ensure content has appropriate levels of detail, accuracy, and completeness
  • Facilitate, or participate in, design reviews, product release reviews, Agile process meetings, and other events to ensure processes are adhered to
  • Work within the QA team, collaborating with Engineering, on process improvements or externally driven changes to ensure Redwire processes are kept contemporary
  • Conduct audits as directed by quality standards from standards bodies and customers
  • Generate findings from audits and ensure that open issues are tracked and satisfactorily closed

  • Continuously improve the test process by incorporating industry best practices and the latest tools and technologies
  • Though typically not part of the role, a willingness to travel if required

Ideal Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related degree.
  • 2 or more years of experience in quality with a focus on software quality assurance
  • Knowledge and experience with auditing to standards (IEEE, AS9100, AS9115, etc.)
  • Experience testing embedded software and hardware products
  • Experience in a scripting language such as: Python, Bash, Expect, or others
  • US Citizenship required

Desired Skills

  • Capable of understanding and documenting findings in a reproducible way
  • Experience with various types of testing including unit, integration, software qualification, system qualification
  • Knowledge of QA/Test methodology and Software development processes (Agile Scrum, IEEE, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with virtual environment such as VMWare
