As project manager, you will support program execution for the development and production of New Glenn’s second stage. You will support all aspects of project management to include cost, schedule, requirements, priorities and change management. This is a high visibility team that must communicate effectively with many levels of the organization and with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of projects requiring coordination between multiple teams and support of more sophisticated projects led by senior project managers
  • Lead multi-functional teams to build or improve operational processes
  • Document current processes and identify areas for improvement and champion the improvement changes (low value, process improvements, reduce requirements)
  • Wiki and SharePoint maintenance- regular upkeep of communication tools to ensure flow of up-to-date information
  • Craft and develop interactive dashboards and data solutions applying SQL, Tableau, and other tools
  • Understand data in source systems and develop requirements for crafting raw data to meet business requirements
  • Own and supervise insourced production hardware
  • Meeting support- capture notes and actions to be communicated and tracked to resolution
  • Support subsystem business rhythms and collaborate develop strategic reporting solutions for leadership to support program reviews

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Blue Origin’s mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • B.S. Business, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Management, or similar
  • Demonstrated ability building trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results
  • Familiar with applicable industry standards
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Administrative skills, organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong digital literacy (MS Excel, MS Project)
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Experience in machining and manufacturing within the aerospace environment in production and/or prototyping environments
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • MBA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma Certification and/or Change Certification.
  • 2-10 years (multiple levels needed) of experience, including sophisticated system development projects within the aerospace, high pressure system or similar safety critical industry.
  • Experience with Primavera (P6), CREO, Windchill, Confluence/Wiki, Jira
  • Writing of RFQs or proposals in response to work requests
  • Working knowledge and experience with engineering drawings, manufacturing, parts and raw materials as they apply to space systems
  • Hands-on applications to manufacture parts: CNC programming, set up and running of all types of machine tools, part processing, heat treating, post processing, CAD/CAM, tooling and fixture design, EDM, and experience with all types of materials from aluminum through nickel-based alloys
