DETAILS:

We’re on the hunt for a Systems Engineering Co-Op, CSC in our Geointelligence Engineering Team at our Richmond or Kanata offices. This is an 8 month term, other terms available, starting in May 2023.

As part of your growth and development we will work with you to establish your development actions alongside regular progress reviews. You are likely to move through various assignments to gain the experience and knowledge to progress your career with us.

Overall the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date.

As a Systems Engineering Co-op working on the CSC Canadian Surface Combatant Project, you may have a wide range of responsibilities, and opportunities for growth, that may include support to the MDA CSC engineering team’s efforts related to:

Responsibilities: 

  • various aspects of electronic warfare as part of MDA’s responsibilities for the CSC design;
  • the development and maintenance of system level requirements from the customer level down to the major subsystem level;
  • the development and generation of deliverable documents such as engineering plans, engineering budgets, design reports, and operational concepts;
  • performing analyses to support the product/system development such as space, power, tracking error, etc.;
  • the development and maintenance of interface control documents between the major subsystems;
  • the review of design material provided by Subcontractors to ensure compliance to requirements;
  • the development of system/product integration and test procedures and oversight of their execution; and
  • supporting the verification activities of the overall product/system;
Requirements:
  • have familiarity with the following software tools:
  • MS Excel, for the purposes of engineering analyses
  • MS Office (other)
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • be a self-starter with the ability to perform in a dynamic working environment
  • possess excellent problem solving skills
  • have a team-friendly attitude and willingness to learn

While not mandatory, candidates will benefit from any of the following:

  • Familiarity with tools such as PTC Windchill and DOORS
  • An understanding of Systems Engineering principles and practice
  • A basic understanding of Electronic Warfare concepts

Experience:**

Interested candidates should be working towards a Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or other relevant discipline with three (3) years of undergraduate studies completed.

Comments/Special Considerations:**

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the enhanced reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
