As part of a hardworking team, you will participate in all aspects of development, implementation, and deployment of FPGA solutions within New Glenn flight avionics. This includes requirements development with design engineers, verification through Formal methods, UVM based simulation and on-target testing. You will work together with FPGA verification engineers as well as Software, Electrical and Systems teams to build outstanding, high-reliability, safety-critical avionics solutions for our New Glenn Orbital Launch Vehicle. As such, experience with avionics and DO-254 is a plus.

Level ll Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with a digital design focus
  • 3+ years proven FPGA/HDL design/verification work experience in Verilog (or VHDL)
  • Experience developing FPGA solutions for embedded systems, including software and hardware integration
  • Self-motivated and independent, can work as a team player as well as an individual contributor with strong organizational and interpersonal team skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Graduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with a digital logic architecture and design focus
  • Experience with Riviera-Pro, Modelsim, or Questasim simulators and Synopsys tools for design. vendors: Microchip, Xilinx, and/or Altera
  • Experience with sophisticated verification techniques: Assertion-Based Verification, Universal Verification Methodology, and/or Constrained Random Verification
  • Familiarity with DO-178, DO-254 and/or other development assurance guidelines
  • Familiarity with sensors and instrumentation including accelerometers, rate gyros, pressure, and temperature sensors.
  • Programming and scripting skills: C / C++; TCL, Python; and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Exposure to fault-tolerant, high-reliability, safety-critical, robust, radiation-tolerant FPGA-based solution development for space-based avionics systems.
  • Exposure to control and/or signal processing solutions implemented on FPGAs.

Level lll Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with a digital design focus
  • 4+ years’ FPGA/ASIC Design/Verification experience
  • Proven firmware development skills in real-time embedded systems, particularly in Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL.
  • Experience designing, developing, and verifying high-performance FPGA or ASIC solutions for use in highly integrated (SW and HW) systems.
  • Solid understanding of NPR 7150.2, DO-254, or other safety-critical software standard
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and build a culture of collaboration
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • 6+ years’ experience with UVM based verification.
  • Exposure to fault-tolerant, high-reliability, safety-critical, robust, radiation-tolerant FPGA-based solution development for space-based avionics systems
  • Familiarity with MPSoCs, AMBA protocols, Xilinx, SmartFusion2
  • Experience with Questasim, Synopsys, Vivado, Libero
  • Basic programming and scripting skills with Python

Senior Level Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with a digital design focus
  • 7+ years’ FPGA/ASIC Design/Verification experience
  • Full Product Life Cycle development experience — from requirements development through final release
  • Ability to maintain positive, professional, inclusive relationships
  • Confident working in Linux and shell scripting
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Familiarity with DO-254 and/or other development assurance guidelines
  • 10+ Years’ experience with UVM based verification
  • Exposure to fault-tolerant, high-reliability, safety-critical, robust, radiation-tolerant FPGA-based solution development for space-based avionics systems
  • Familiarity with MPSoCs, AMBA protocols, Xilinx, SmartFusion2

Compensation range for on site WA applicants:

Engineer - Avionics, Instruments & GNC II is $108,000 - $158,400

Engineer - Avionics, Instruments & GNC III is $135,000 - $198,000
Engineer - Avionics, Instruments & GNC Sr is $163,725 - $240,130
