Systems Engineering Manager – Blue Engines

In this role, you will be the functional manager for a systems engineering team that supports a portfolio of propulsion development programs serving multiple customers. The team you lead will be key participants in developing, decomposing, and managing requirements and verification activities, supporting the system safety process, guiding day-to-day technical decision making, peer reviews, and gated reviews. Ultimately, you will partner with the Blue Engine Systems management team in encouraging a system-of-systems perspective and culture, and integrating systems engineering methodology throughout the life cycle of engine development, production, certification, and operations.

You will work with the Engines Design Office and your team to establish technical standards and develop process expectations inclusive of sharing standard methodologies and lessons learned across the Blue Engines programs and other Blue Origin business entities, to continuously improve the development processes, tools, and expertise of our outstanding team. You will assist the Blue Engines teams with coordination and planning, working with program management and customers, and providing mentorship to engineers on the team. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will be responsible for the employee life cycle including performance management and career development, training and allocating engineering resources to program developments.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

• 6+ years of Systems Engineering experience, including sophisticated system development projects within the Aerospace, automotive or similar safety critical industry.

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in leading direct reporting team members and indirect/matrixed program team members

• Demonstrated knowledge and strong fundamentals in systems engineering approaches

• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired

• Master's Degree (M.S.) or higher in aerospace, systems engineering or a related field

• Familiarity or experience with model-based development, testing and launch operations, and safety certification

Compensation range for on site CO applicants:

Manager - AERS Engineering & Systems is $119, 625 - $175,450

Compensation range for on site WA applicants:

Manager - AERS Engineering & Systems is $130,500 - $191,400

Compensation range for on site CA applicants:

Manager - AERS Engineering & Systems is $130,500 - $191,400
