Maxar is seeking a Software Engineer skills to join our team of technical engineers and data managers supporting USSOCOM.

REQUIRED: Active Top Secret security clearance; must be SCI eligible

LOCATION: On-Site in Tampa FL

Your skills and experience will add value to Maxar's advanced expertise in machine learning, computer vision, crowdsourcing, software engineering and geospatial analysis to enable USSOCOM to rapidly sift through massive amounts of geospatial data to reveal actionable insight.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in  in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar major with extensive computer-based or technical content)
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience with Python, SQL, JAVA, C# or comparable Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language
• Ability to take high-level requirements and compile them into development tasks

This opportunity with Maxar is in a team-based, customer-oriented environment supporting the ongoing administration and maintenance of the SOF Geospatial Enterprise (SGE), an implementation of ESRI's ArcGIS Enterprise platform. The project objective is to make SOF data captured at all levels discoverable and downloadable. The role also supports analysts with the ability to create dynamic geospatial dashboards and live maps.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a top-tier technical escalation point for critical pre-production issues 
• Resolve problems that arise within existing production applications in a timely manner  
• Proactively design and develop new applications and services for business and/or administrative processes

Preferred Skills:

• Web development:  Python, PowerShell, DHTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript 
• SQL or SQL Server (T-SQL) 
• ESRI products (ArcGIS, ArcPro, ArcMap, and/or Jupyter Notebook, etc.) 
• Virtualization

Compensation for this opportunity is flexible (e.g., higher for more senior candidates). The auto-populated range stated below is for the specific qualifications listed in the job description.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$84,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually.
