Maxar is currently seeking engineering students to join our 2022 summer intern program in Palo Alto, CA. RF Active/Passive mechanical & RF subcontracts engineering is comprised of various roles that contribute to the development, production, and test of space borne RF equipment. These roles design, implement, and deliver payload subsystems, supporting all aspects of the design process. This includes CAD design work, documentation, production support and production tooling. The subcontracts engineers manage the development of externally procured equipment. All roles involve significant collaboration with interdisciplinary teams from multiple subsystems.

Your Project:
Mechanical engineering interns will be performing the following tasks:
Design of RF Active and/or Passive units
Support of RF Subcontracts working with outside vendors
Preparing and presenting materials in design reviews
Performing mechanical and thermal analysis
Supporting the production floor as needs arise
Placement of individual intern within this role will be based on intern's background, intern's areas of interest and Maxar need.

Currently, our 2022 internship program is set to be on-site and in-office.
Minimum requirements for this position:
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with completion of 2 years or more, in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related discipline.
These skills would be amazing:
Familiarity with CAD systems such as CREO and/or AutoCad
Familiarity with Analysis tools such as FE Map and/or Nastran/Patran
Familiarity with Electronics packaging techniques
Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills
Experience working in a production setting building a product
Experience in the aerospace industry
Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$15.10 - $25.16 hourly.
