DETAILS:

We’re on the hunt for a motivated and talented Engineering Student to join our Corporate Business Operations department at our Brampton or Montreal facility. This position is a 4 or 8 month internship beginning in February 2023.

Overall, the successful candidate will be treated as a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of education and experience achieved to date.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Business Operations team to create a harmonized approach to business operations across the company that is aligned to the corporate strategy and priorities. Under the supervision of a Business Operations Engineering Analyst, the successful candidate will execute cross-company operations projects enabling the simplification and modernization of MDA’s business processes and tools. These tasks will directly support the growth of the business through strategic operational initiatives. The successful candidate will be working in a multifunctional team, assessing key processes within the Quality, Finance, Procurement, Engineering and Manufacturing departments across all MDA sites. Communication, backend software development and organization skills are key for success in this role.

As an Engineering Student, you will:

• Execute operational assignments related to corporate strategy, governance, risk management, strategic operations, etc.
• Perform a variety of tasks to collect and analyse current process information and metrics,
• Research industry best practices related to business tool, process and data governance and contribute to the development of future state plans.
• Support future state continuous improvement efforts
• Support a variety of tasks related to the launch of new business tools including an enterprise-wide ERP Upgrade
• Interpret system users’ requests and document these requests as system requirements
• Execute several report and application migrations/translations as part of an enterprise-wide ERP system upgrade
• Contribute to various activities within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including requirement gathering, development, integration and testing

Experience, skills and competencies required:**

Interested candidates should be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer/Data Science with three (3) years completed. 

• Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) (Microsoft SQL Server)
• Programming experience (C#, Microsoft SQL and VB.Net)
• Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
• Critical Thinking, Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive thinker
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Strong interest in innovation and new technologies
• Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Infor LN)

Desirable skills and experience:** 

• Operational Reporting and Business Intelligence platforms (preferably Power BI, Tableau and IBM Cognos)
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure)
• Experience in the aerospace industry through a past placement or internship
• Experience with SharePoint, Confluence and JIRA
• Experience with/knowledge of SOAP, REST APIs and other web services
• Knowledge of MES,CRM and HRM systems

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
