Duties

  • Exercises authority in Application and Platform Services (APS) planning, support systems, resources and technologies that produce benefits to OCIO and its customers.
  • Oversees Technical Integration of APS products and services with NASA Centers and Service Lines.
  • Collaborates with all OCIO Enterprise Programs, Missions, and Centers to meet the business requirements.
  • Conducts integrated inventory of services improving ability to increase awareness of, and access to, Center and Enterprise services.
  • Normalizes services and service levels in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Works with Center OCIO organizations and Agency Level Offices to provide APS services and solutions aligned to Center, mission, and mission support requirements.
  • Enables coordinated execution and delivery of APS services and solutions across traditional ?enterprise? and ?center? boundaries.
  • Supports the development of strategic approach and IT Roadmap for APS Services.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:

  • Implementing the Information Technology Infrastructure Library and Agile Development Methodologies
  • Formulating and developing Business Cases for the provisioning, operating, and operations and maintenance of mission support and/or mission applications and platforms
  • Defining budget, resource, and service level requirements for enterprise and local services

AND

IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

You must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible for this position. To be eligible, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in a position no more than 1 grade lower than the advertised position. If your eligibility for both merit promotion and/or time-in-grade cannot be determined, your application will be rated ineligible.
