As the Senior manageranager of a diverse and hardworking team of combustion device engineers, you will set technical direction, train team members to support current and future engine program needs, and progress combustion devices (injectors, chambers, nozzles, thrusters, igniters, and related components) for various rocket engines and spaceflight systems through every stage of an engineered products’ lifecycle. You will be responsible for the complete employee experience including hiring, performance management, training and providing tools for career development. You will help to improve technical processes and tool development around focused areas of engines test planning, execution, and engine development cycles.
In addition to people manager responsibilities, you will provide direct technical support to a program as an individual contributor. You will contribute to and lead component design, manufacturing, test support, perform data reviews and Test Readiness Reviews, support anomaly investigations and root cause analysis to drive corrective actions and hardware improvements.

Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired)
Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer and/or combustion
Working design and development knowledge of a variety of combustion devices
10+ years of aerospace industry or related field experience
Consistent track record leading teams through earning trust and maintaining positive, professional relationships in a way that would strengthen our culture of inclusion
Proven understanding of production processes
Demonstrated success with corrective action implementation
Familiarity with data analysis and data processing
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Engineering M.S. or higher
8+ years liquid rocket engine experience
Knowledge of entire combustion devices life cycle from design, fabrication, development, qualification, acceptance, and production
Computer aided design (CAD) experience
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Lean or six-sigma knowledge/certifications
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
