PSC by Rocket Lab, a manufacturer of satellite mechanisms, is seeking a process-oriented undergraduate intern interested in program management or business operations. PSC’s products include separation systems, on-orbit devices, and other electro-mechanical deployables. 

Title: Program Operations Intern 

Position Type: Hourly, full-time 40 hours/week with option for occasional overtime 

Term: Approximately May to September 2023 (flexible based on class schedule) 

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland -- This position is in-person, not remote. 

Compensation: Competitive compensation commensurate with industry and region 

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

  • Perform programmatic information gathering and reporting used by Senior Program Managers and company leadership 
  • Draft and update business process documentation  
  • Gather data to feed existing reporting systems on a weekly basis 
  • Research and deploy data usability improvements to existing programmatic reporting documents 
  • Identify and develop solutions for cross-functional process bottlenecks between design, manufacturing, PM, and finance/accounting departments

  • Integrity and focus to follow through on long-term objectives

 

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two years worked towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, business administration, operations, logistics, or similar 
  • Skill to prioritize and execute multiples tasks with varying durations and deadlines 
  • Desire to take initiative and solve problems 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other technically minded employees 
  • Capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws

 

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE: 

  • Familiarity with common manufacturing systems and methods 
  • Interest in aerospace, satellite, and/or manufacturing industries
