Become part of our team developing the first independent commercial space station. This space station is based on our expandable _LIFE_™ habitat, serviced by _Dream Chaser_® spaceplane, and will provide the facilities and services for commercial research, manufacturing and tourism.
The Customer Accommodations IPT is the voice of the customer and business interests to the technical team, and vice versa. Customer Accommodations bridges the gap between the technical and business teams and considerations, ensuring that our Space Destinations products are responsive to the demands of the customers, market, and business objectives. As the IPT lead, you will be responsible for collaborating with business development, strategy, and product teams to help strike the balance between the business demands and the technical constraints. And, you will be responsible for all programmatic aspects of your assigned product team providing scope, definition, technical review, mentoring, and planning to our team (and customers) providing customer and payload capabilities on our commercial space station.
As a technical leader, you will have specific, focused responsibilities for customer relationship, cost, schedule and technical planning, risk management, tracking and reporting, technical execution, procurement, production, and deployment to ensure overall program performance objectives are achieved. You will be crucial in planning, tracking, and coordinating across the space station program and reporting to the Customer Accommodations group. You will be the driver in ensuring program issues and problems are identified, tracked, and resolved and the success of the program.
In the definition phase, you will be responsible for the customer-focused system level architecture, mission objectives, capabilities, CONOPS, and requirements for the space station, including payload services and capabilities. In the execution phase, you will be responsible for the overall customer lifecycle, including customer mission definition, integration, certification, operation, and post-flight experience.
Bachelor's degree in STEM related discipline and typically a minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience. Alternative degrees such as business or user experience design may be considered; higher education may be considered in lieu of experience
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
Demonstrated experience with systems engineering, system architecture development, requirements specification
Demonstrated customer-facing experience
Leadership abilities inclusive of successful change and risk management, life cycle program or product management, multi-disciplinary decision making and leading from within a team.
Requires ability to manage complex situations, delegate and empower authority, lead and inspire, drive innovative thinking for success, instill collaboration and transparency, challenge the status quo, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
Requires skills in time management, cost accounting, schedule reconciliation, team building, conflict resolution, communication and strategic thinking.
Master's degree in STEM related discipline or business administration
Experience in business development, business strategy, and/or market analysis
Experience leading integrated product teams or multi-disciplinary teams
Experience with payloads
Experience with ensuring compliance with approved Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 Policies and Processes

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $159,430.15 - $219,216.46
Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
