As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will be working at the intersection of program management, engineering, integrated supply chain, finance, and quality organizations, improving team effectiveness and coordination, and ensuring that the right people are working together to solve problems and deliver results on time.

You will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Head of the GS2 Fluids Technical Project Managers Office for the New Glenn Stage 2 Fluid Systems, and directly support all aspects of project management to include cost, schedule, technical design, risk & opportunity, and change management. When required, you will have the responsibility of acting as Delegate for the Sr. Manager / Head of Office. You will use your management skills to identify, propose, and execute process improvements initiatives to efficiently fulfill New Glenn Stage 2 objectives. You will support the growth of the team through the development of training programs and mentoring.

You will use your project management and engineering skills to organize budgets, schedules, and program plans to ensure development, qualification and production hardware is delivered and support the various campaigns. You will use your technical background to understand and effectively communicate with Blue Origin internal organizations and suppliers worldwide. You will build subsystems project management plans and manage project schedules, WBS, and cost, as well coordinate schedules to integrate the subsystem development with the overall vehicle programs. You will present status, risks & opportunities, variances, and recovery plans to engineering and program management. You will manage the subsystem business rhythms and develop/communicate key program metrics. Qualifications:

  • Passion for Blue Origin’s mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • B.S./B.A. degree in Business engineering or another technical field
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience   
  • Possess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skills
  • Strong knack for troubleshooting and quick thinking to keep the project moving forward
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results
  • Working knowledge of configuration management principles and practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Experience with P6 or other GANTT-style project management tools
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • MBA or M.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or systems engineering
  • Experience with launch vehicle development, production and operations
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management and Cost Account Management such as EVM.
  • Strong business management acumen and experience interfacing with large, geographically dispersed programs with large subcontractors.
