Position Summary The Software Engineer position includes working on a variety of different tasks including real-time software development, application software development, test and verification, data analysis, software tools development, and many others. This position will be responsible for providing practical solutions to difficult technical software problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) is highly desired.
  • 1 to 3 years of software engineering or software development experience required, preferably in Spacecraft and Aerospace & Defense.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Strong focus on embedded systems
  • Software system architecture
  • Networking and communications protocols
  • Candidates will be submitted for background investigation for the purpose of being granted a U.S. security clearance*.
