What we do?

ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time โ€“ even when itโ€™s cloudy or dark โ€“ providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

What are we looking for?

To support the companyโ€™s growth, we continue to scale our Engineering team and looking for an Avionics Engineer (software) to join our global Engineering Team.

About the role?

ICEYE is looking for an Avionics Engineer (software) experienced in Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAV) to join its high altitude platform system (HAPS) development team. As an avionics software engineer you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, integrating and testing complete avionic systems for the HAPS platform.

You will be a part of a small, dedicated team facing an exciting challenge. You will get to work with world leading aerospace, mechanical and electronics engineers on a project that has real impact and will set a new mark on aviation history. Responsibilities

  • Designing avionics architecture for novel UAV platform
  • Development and implementation of Command & Control segment of UAV systems
  • Identifying requirements and developing verification procedures
  • Integration of COTS avionic equipment
  • Development of software & firmware for in-house avionic systems
  • Creating hardware-in-the-loop missions simulation environment
  • Prototypes assembly integration and testing
  • Participation in test campaign and in-flight data analysis
  • Experience with Autopilots and communication systems applied to fixed-wing UAV
  • Experience with communication protocols and command, control & communication (C3) hardware/softwares for UAV systems.
  • Experience in ROS
  • Experience in softwares like ArduPilot, Mission Planner and QGroundControl is highly desired.
  • Previous experience with MavLink communication protocol is a plus.
