As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will develop, manage, and execute test plans and procedures as part of the Advanced Development Program team.  You will have ownership of fluids system ground support equipment and testing of space vehicle systems.  You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of ground system testing for developmental and flight asset testing. You will develop methods, ground support equipment, and procedures to efficiently complete integrated system testing for multiple test campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test procedures of facility subsystems against project requirements

  • Design, plan, fabricate, install, and operate pneumatic and cryogenic test capabilities

  • Develop test methods to efficiently complete integrated system testing

  • Assist in support equipment design, budgeting, procurement, verification, and integration

  • Maintain fluids test equipment configuration control, calibration, and traceability

  • Write test procedures, manage procedural red lines, and incorporate updates during test campaigns

  • Oversee vendor design and fabrication of fluid test equipment and support equipment

  • Participate in gated design and test readiness reviews

  • Define and perform facility activation tests of fluids subsystems

  • Manage overall responsibility for the test, the team, and the procedure execution

  • Maintain and operate pneumatic hardware and/or control software

  • Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations

  • Troubleshoot anomalies real-time and provide solutions during non-conformance scenarios

  • Reduce, analyze, and archive test data to support verification tasks

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering, or related field

  • Experience in one or more fluid areas such as:

    • High Pressure Gaseous Nitrogen

    • High Pressure Gaseous Helium

    • High Pressure Gaseous Hydrogen

    • Oxygen Systems

    • Xenon Systems

    • Liquid Nitrogen

    • Liquid Oxygen

    • Liquid Hydrogen

    • Hypergolic Rocket Fuels

    • Vacuum/Thermal Vacuum Systems

    • Pressurized Water Systems

  • Experience with developing, writing, and executing test procedures for servicing or leak checking pressurized fluid systems

  • A strong safety record

  • Leading test teams as a Test Conductor or Test Engineer

  • Experience reading P&ID schematics/layout designs

  • Experience developing fluids systems installation and checkout procedures

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Successful candidates typically have 2 to 8+ years of relevant experience

  • M.S. in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering, or related field

  • Technical expertise in component and system level testing of spaceflight hardware through development, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns

  • Experience with test facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control Systems

  • Experience with high voltage, 3 phase power systems

  • Familiarity with cleanroom work and its associated best practices

  • ASME codes and local building standards

  • Proficiency in LabView, Python, MATLAB

Compensation

Blue pays competitively to local markets and as such adjustments to current pay may result (up/down) in the event of a transfer to another location.
