As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, engineers, you will oversee the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of flight hardware for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the teamโ€™s impact on all aspects of transforming the way rockets are made and operated. As the GS1 Production Integration Supervisor you will lead a Team of Aerospace Technicians as they assemble and test the Blue Origin GS1 Booster. You will be responsible for their Safety, Quality and Performance. You will communicate Goals and Objectives to the Team every day in the form of Team Meetings that will be held prior to the start of the shift. You will ensure that each member of your Team has all the necessary Tools and Training needed to perform their tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and Manage the GS1 Stage Integration Production Team, including developing resource plans and profiles, authorizing job descriptions, conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations, assigning tasks and conducting performance reviews.
  • Interface with the area leadership to prioritize work based on productions schedule and organizational goals.
  • Ensure product Quality and Conformance to engineering specifications.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvement measures.
  • Implement and refine new manufacturing processes.
  • Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes.
  • Review work instructions and provide changes where necessary.
  • Assure continued training and skills development for employees.
  • Setup new production work areas including layouts, tooling, equipment setup etc.
  • Assist with transition from hardware and work center development to production.
  • Forecast and develop recovery plans for constraints critical to vehicle delivery schedule.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for Safety and Efficiency.
  • Other Duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years in an Aerospace / Aviation production environment.
  • Experience in Leading Teams with assembly and integration of hardware across a range of vehicle subsystems including avionics, fluids and mechanical.
  • Must be customer focused.
  • Must have a continuous improvement mind set.
  • Be willing to work off-shift, extended hours, overtime and weekends if/when vital.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with the ability to drive projects with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with resource loaded schedules using Primavera (P6), MS Project and others Preferred.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends if/when necessary.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Green Belt Certification, Air Frame AMP Certification, Advanced Safety Training Preferred.
  • Experience with resource loaded schedules using Primavera (P6), MS Project and others Preferred.
