supply chain

We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight.  Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse Supply Chain Engineers, you will enable the application of industry leading composites technology solutions in the design of ground, launch, and in space vehicles by rapidly maturing executable requirements for trusted supplier partners that fulfill program demand.  This function’s primary responsibility is to streamline the technical definition of composites structure leading bridging of the gap from internal program engineering to the supply base capability. You will improve standard work for the acquisition of composites structure and overwrapped pressure vessels across Blue’s programs while maintaining an acute awareness of the technical health status of ongoing acquisitions under your technical supervision.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of technically defining and oversight of manufacturing and inspection of complex composite structure from concept generation through compliant hardware on dock.  This role will be instrumental in the execution of best-in-class composites structure acquisition by driving early subject matter embedment during program architectural trade phase informing program engineers on technical maturity and cost performance while shepherding the technical contract artifacts and statement of work to the bidding stage. This individual will be the technical information conduit from Blue’s program demand to the supply chain lowering the acquisition lead time for composite structure and increasing first pass yield by ensuring timely maturation of the bid package technical artifacts and work scope to a state trusted supplier partners can confidently bid and execute on.

This role represents an opportunity to drive standardization in the acquisition of composite structure for all Blue Origin’s ground systems, launch vehicles, and space vehicles.  This candidate will report to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain Engineering – Composites and will work closely with the procurement team and Program Engineering Team for composite structures.
