What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?

SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Vacuum Exhaust Engineer who will primarily be responsible for aiding Axiom’s Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) Team with designing and operating spacecraft vacuum exhaust testing setups. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about space and excels at problem solving. The role requires strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to work and collaborate with technicians to build high quality and functional vacuum test systems
  • Schematic and diagram generation
  • Ability to stand up test configuration, perform tests, and actively adapt to dynamic situations
  • Bill of materials preparation and component management
  • Schematic and diagram generation
  • Learn and understand vacuum systems
  • Perform analysis of test results and communicate path forward to team members
  • Generate test procedures, plans and reports
  • Determine qualification/validation plans and procedures to bring components to flight readiness
  • Ability to determine necessary testing and execute at a rapid pace
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field required
  • 0-15 years’ experience in Vacuum Systems, or similar role
  • At least 2 years of experience with mechanical design and analysis (internship experience may be considered)
  • Hands on experience building, testing and/or assembling hardware
  • GFSSP experience and knowledge preferred
  • CAD/ANSYS experience preferred.
  • Experience with conductance and fluid dynamics preferred

Education & Experience

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field required
  • 0-15 years’ experience in Vacuum Systems, or similar role
  • At least 2 years of experience with mechanical design and analysis (internship experience may be considered)

  • GFSSP experience and knowledge preferred
