Maxar is seeking a GIS Operations Officer to provide comprehensive technical and analytical geospatial support to the highest levels of the U.S. Government's Intelligence and Policymaking communities. The mission requires a force multiplier who is comfortable working in a demanding environment with dynamic priorities and deadlines, serving as a geospatial subject matter expert collecting, integrating, analyzing, serving, and visualizing large volumes of all-source information.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Our team consists of trusted and valued colleagues who routinely collaborate directly with senior USG management on the planning and execution of operations as well as determining the content and design for senior-level briefings. You will be an intricate component in a demanding but personally, rewarding mission exploiting cutting-edge technology to sustain USG counterterrorism efforts. You will create advanced mapping, imagery, and visualization products conveying complicated tactical and strategic information to operations and policymaking audiences. You will also combine geospatial and temporal information to perform all-source analysis and research, create custom datasets through raster geo-referencing and re-projection, feature extraction and digitization, feature and attribute manipulation, and file format conversion. Your efforts to help design, develop, populate, and maintain all-source geospatial databases and create custom scripts and tools to automate extraction, ingestion, processing, and integration of disparate data streams and formats will enhance user connectivity to critical information and streamline operation and production workflows.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have an active and current TS/SCI security clearance with the required Polygraph.
• BS Degree in Geography, Earth Science, or related field, 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• 8 years of experience with Geographic Information Systems (GlS), geospatial and imagery analysis, cartography, all-source analysis, graphic design and production, process automation, and tool development.
• Prior working experience with some or all of the following software packages and data:
  • ESRI ArcGlS 10.6,
  • SpatialAnalyst,
  • Remote View,
  • Google Earth,
  • Adobe lllustrator and Photoshop,
  • Personal and multi-user geodatabases,
  • Oracle L2 databases,
  • GIS web services,
  • various vector and raste rdata formats,
  • overhead imagery,
  • CADRG,
  • ClB,
  • DTED.
• Experience with SQL Developer, VBA, Visual Basic, ArcObjects, and/or Python programming languages.

Preferred Skills:

• High standards for quality of work and attention to detail.
• Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and communication skills as well as the ability to work with minimal guidance.
• Ability to transform concepts and requirements into effective audience-specific visualization products within time constraints in an operational environment.
