Maxar is currently seeking a Senior Quality Control Technician to join our team in Palo Alto, CA or San Jose, CA. In this role, you will inspect mechanical parts at different stages of the fabrication process, including first article, in-process, and final inspection.
Responsibilities:
Perform analyses and identify trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and bulk raw materials.
Prepare documentation for inspection/testing procedures.
Evaluate and analyze the efforts in organizing, documenting, and interpreting inspection support documents and records.
Assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e., GLP, GMP, ISO, Six Sigma).ย
Perform complex inspection functions where detailed information is not provided. Determine methods, operations, and sequences necessary to make or verify setups to inspect in process and final electronic systems, and precision electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
Check components and assemblies for adequate markings/labels.
Verify stores/receiving inspection procedures.
Perform process, hardware configuration and manufacturing audits.
Conduct test surveillance and test set verifications.
Provide off-site support for Quality Control Inspections, as necessary.
Interface with manufacturing and engineering personnel concerning quality conformance issues.
Assist Quality Engineers with the Material Review Boards functions and provide support to the Working Corrective Action Board and special audit teams (Limited).
Document results of inspections, tests, and audits on computer databases.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
High School diploma required; Associate's degree preferred
Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience
Familiarity with hand and small power tools, and moderately complex measuring and testing devices such as microscopes, calipers, torques, gauges, and pull testers
Familiarity with basic computer operations, spreadsheet and word processing programs
Knowledge of NASA/DOD soldering requirements
Familiarity with moderately complex engineering drawings and aerospace processes
