Do you have experience working in a Mechanical Test lab? Have you directed and performed fatigue, fracture toughness and crack growth testing? If so, we would like you to come join us in our M&P Test lab to help us expand our testing capabilities. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for supporting laboratory efforts using mechanical test equipment.  In this hands-on position, you’ll work with engineers and other technicians to develop and expand testing capabilities to ensure that the launch vehicles, engines, and spacecraft we build are optimally designed and fabricated, and are the safest in the industry.


  • Provide Engineering direction and oversight of Mechanical Testing in the Mechanical Test Lab.
  • Organize and report test data
  • Assist team with installation and commissioning new mechanical test systems.
  • Communicate with technicians and engineers regarding best practices for mechanical testing. 
  • Provide direction related to machining of fatigue, fracture and crack growth test specimen
  • Follow Laboratory Best Practices and safety protocols.
  • Assist customers in unique test design.
  • Help to maintain 5S compliance
  • Demonstrate strict attention to detail in executing laboratory analyses
  • Safely work with hazardous systems containing high-temperatures, cryo-temperatures, high pressure, and stored energy.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and some overtime may be required.


  • Bachelor of science degree or technical degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering but will consider other STEM fields.
  • 8+ years’ experience working with universal load frames and software including strain gauges, extensometers, and crack opening displacement gauges
  • Demonstrated knowledge of static and dynamic load frame testing in accordance with ASTM Standards
  • Hands-on experience conducting high temperature, low temperature, and ambient tensile, fatigue, fracture toughness and crack growth tests.
  • Basic engineering laboratory skills: weights and measures, chemical hygiene, materials safety planning, personal protective equipment, contamination control, job hazard analysis, and work instruction.
  • An enthusiastic team player
  • Strong written and personal computer skills
  • Familiarity with ASTM and NADCAP standards
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


  • Familiarity with typical aerospace testing and quality processes (AS9100, FOD Control, Lean, 5S, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the types of materials and processes used to fabricate aerospace components
