Team and Role Overview:

Relativity Space is the first and only company to automate aerospace manufacturing by integrating intelligent robotics, software, material science, and proprietary metal 3D printing technology. What we do disrupts over 60 years of aerospace industry standards, by radically simplifying the supply chain โ€“ allowing us to build a rocket with 100x fewer parts in less than 60 days. These improvements are necessary as our long-term goal is to upgrade humanityโ€™s industrial capabilities on Earth as well as on Mars.

To help accomplish this, we need to build the platform on which the factory of the future will run โ€“ our Factory Operating System (OS). This Factory OS is a logical concept, combining software, data, machine learning, physical hardware, and materials science to provide an end-to-end pipeline for building complex finished products. Today we are starting with rockets, but we simultaneously will be envisioning how this stack can be used to build many different types of products and components. We have made significant progress, but now we are doubling down our efforts and are looking for the best product and engineering leaders on the planet to join our mission.

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to help drive the product roadmap for the Factory OS, to enhance existing functionality and introduce net new software capabilities. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with personnel that owns each stage of the manufacturing process, to understand and frame the technical requirements that are necessary to increase efficiency, velocity, and overall productivity of our workflows. You will use these learnings to drive improvements to the platform and own the overall stack-ranking and order of operations we should follow to enhance the software stack. You will make trade-off decisions that balance our company wide milestones with our ability to make scalable improvements to our technical capabilities and capacity. You will guide our systems to be smarter, by collecting the right data, passing it to the right system, and teaching it to learn and inform forward looking manufacturing models.

Do you have what it takes to make the impossible possible? Then come join our mission of building humanity in space!

What you will do:

  • Drive software enhancements that align to our overall product strategy, including key milestones and deliverables
  • Document clear technical requirements and prioritize work to align with key company milestones
  • Look around corners to determine how incremental product enhancements will deliver scalable improvements
  • Own and drive status updates โ€“ not only to inform the broader organization on overall progress, but also to align the various workstreams around common goals
  • Enhance product and workflow documentation across the company to encourage knowledge sharing and easy of location for mission critical and up-to-date information
  • Live and breathe a growth mindset by learning various technical aspects of our business, including non-software and product skills (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and structural)

What you will need to know and demonstrate:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in science, engineering, technology, mathematics, or related field
  • 7+ years of work experience in consulting, product management, engineering, or technical program management
  • Background leading product related Rhythms-of-Business, including sprint planning, monthly/quarterly reviews, and yearly strategic planning
  • Strong executive presence, including ability to drive clarity and action across all levels within the company
  • Robust communication skills, leading through influence across numerous stakeholders and dependent teams
  • History of leading successful software product launches from start to finish within matrixed organizations
  • Experience and measurable evidence of solving ambiguous problems, including the introduction of new tools and processes

Nice to haves, but not required:

  • MBA, Masterโ€™s in engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing or consumer products manufacturing at-scale
  • Experience with integrated software and hardware product development

Relativity is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
