JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Director of Business Development to support the sales and marketing team. The ideal candidate should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on new space technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead proposals and Capture new Business
  • Interface with the customer to understand their needs and requirements, and to explore solution trade spaces
  • Liaise between Engineering, Product, Finance and Legal teams to develop winning solutions for the customer
  • Conduct internal proposal reviews and approval processes
  • Support the development and implementation of sales strategies for government and commercial space sectors

Required Skills and Experience

  • Background in Space Related Technologies (In-Space Transport, Spacecraft design, Propulsion, etc)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent technical communications skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with Salesforce and similar customer relationship management tools
  • Experience working with Jira and similar project management tools
  • Experience with proposal and/or technical writing
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and coordination skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while producing quality work products
  • MBA

Education & Work Experience:

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline to space
  • 10+ years relevant experience.

Salary and option compensation is commensurate with experience and training. This is a full-time position in San Jose, California. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) is required.
