We are looking for someone that is great at managing teams and enjoys testing rocket engines!
As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will lead, represent, and support the team that performs rocket engine testing at our West Texas test site for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of rocket engine testing.
As the people manager of a diverse, hardworking and accomplished team of rocket engine test engineers, you will set technical direction, build team members to support current and future engine program needs, be responsible for employee life cycle including hiring, performance management, training and providing tools for career development. You will own the planning, scheduling, and on-time execution of engine testing. You will drive efficiency gains in testing activities in order to increase testing throughput while maintaining a high standard of quality and prioritizing the safety of your teammates above all else. You will be accountable for defects present in the test process and drive corrective actions to ensure that they are conclusively addressed. You will share in the team’s impact on manufacturing, testing, and delivering hardware for various rocket engines.
To be successful in this role, you will need to communicate between multiple engine programs and relevant stakeholders to coordinate customer test needs among multiple test cells. You will need to establish, monitor, document and improve processes specific to the team’s responsibilities. You must be able to develop and maintain test operation training and certifications. You will be a non-advocate Subject Matter Expert (SME) for programs during reviews and failure investigations.
