The Team

The Supply Chain team provides the company with the resources necessary to execute on its mission. This includes materials and components that comprise the vehicle, manufacturing equipment to build our products, and supporting services to operate the business.

The Opportunity

As the Global Supply Manager for CapEx, you will have the opportunity to gain deep functional knowledge about facilities for a space tech company and establish relationships with our strategic suppliers. This role has a broad scope which will allow you to develop new skills and knowledge throughout your day-to-day tasks. Your workday will be fast paced filled with different tasks each day requiring you to be adaptive and ready to learn. You will work closely with the team and be able to communicate ideas and information fearlessly to meet our cost, quality, and production targets. You will become an expert in facilities, engineering, and manufacturing processes. You will negotiate multimillion dollar contracts that will help make the economics of daily space deliveries a reality.

How You’ll Fulfill Your Mission

• Lead the sourcing strategy for critical components of factory automation. 
• Establish key relationships with strategic suppliers, gaining a deep understanding of their growth plans.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts from RFP through contract term, and provide execution strategy to leadership.
• Perform quantitative analysis, including total cost of ownership assessments, to identify financial impacts of decisions and performance across the categories managed.
• Develop and manage key procurement and supply chain metrics – cost, delivery, quality performance and risk management.
• Influence internal and external capacity expansion decisions that will support our growth trajectory.
• Execute tasks efficiently while emphasizing attention to detail while maintaining flexibility throughout the day in order to align with changing priorities.
• Communicate status of tasks with the team frequently in order to highlight blockers or issues affecting scheduled delivery dates.
• Develop sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA’s, General Terms & Conditions and Production Supply Agreements.
• Work closely alongside Manufacturing engineering and Program Management to support engineering requirements, execute against build milestones and track sourcing progress.
• Partner with the construction and engineering team to forecast demand, understand the application, review proposals, and select vendors.
• Support Supplier Quality audits and technical reviews.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in a supply chain role, specifically in the automation industry
• Experience working within a complex automation factory 
• Ability to understand and interpret CAD & assembly drawings for accurate quote and fabrication by our suppliers
• Experience negotiating supplier pricing, forecasting, and supply agreements
• Experience developing “should-cost” estimates and analyzing supplier quotes
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, electrical design, production, and manufacturing operations
• BS/MS in Engineering, Business Administration, or other related technical field
• MBA or functional understanding of real-world application of strategic business concepts
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with a penchant for detail and high level of integrity 
• Analytical skills to ensure both internal and external requests are fulfilled
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Travel will be required on an as-needed basis

Desired Multipliers

• 5+ years of purchasing or supplier management experience for complex hardware products
• International contracting experience including construction industry standard contracting types
• Experience with space port assembly

ITAR Requirements: This position requires compliance with U.S. Government space technology  trade restrictions, specifically the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and additional regulations governing satellite, launch vehicle, missile, and other related technologies.  All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicant’s status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. and California laws.  Similarly, positions requiring the ability to work on government contracts or a security clearance are also contingent upon the applicants ability to receive the appropriate clearance and be allowed to work on U.S. government contracts.
