Support the Mission:  We are responsible for the deployment and support of 24x7 runtime systems that help our Commercial and Government partners realize value in our unique solutions to problems that are global in scale.  We provide Space Infrastructure and Earth Intelligence services for customers ranging from startups to humanitarian organizations to government intelligence markets.

Your Career:  Maxar has an established customer base with existing infrastructure solutions and will to continue to adapt to changing customer needs by exploring M&A activities and new technology development.  In this role, you will focus on advancing on-premises IT infrastructure virtualization platforms and explore hybrid and cloud-based operating models to better serve the needs of our partners.  We operate at considerable scale, both on-premises and in the cloud, and are focused on growing competencies internally to support emerging technology trends.  Team development, automation, dynamic environments, and M&A integrations are examples of opportunities to develop and distinguish yourself.

Day to Day:

  • Work on a distributed team with infrastructure across the United States
  • Full life-cycle administration of virtualization platforms, primarily VMware
  • Develop, implement, and support solutions for projects in physical, virtual, and cloud environments
  • Plan and execute activities related to upgrades, migrations, and other maintenance
  • Serve as a primary resource for virtualization at Maxar’s various locations
  • Basic administration of storage infrastructure as well as Linux and Windows Server operating systems
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24x7 operations

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Minimum of 8 years of previous and relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field; four years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Willing and able to work in a hybrid work environment, remote and on site as needed

These skills would be amazing:

  • Existing, transferable US Government “Secret” clearance, or higher
  • Understanding of cloud methodologies and services, particularly AWS and Azure
  • Understanding of system hardening, working in a STIG/ICD503/CIS environment
  • Experience with management tools and related scripting technologies: Ansible, Puppet, Satellite, SCCM, PowerShell
  • Familiar with HPC platforms and technologies: MOAB/Torque, xCat
  • Previous experience with Agile methodologies
  • Previous experience working on a distributed team
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Previous experience with medium to large-scale infrastructure environments
  • Advanced experience with virtualization platforms and related technologies, particularly VMware (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, DRS/HA, etc.)
  • Experience with storage technologies at scale: CIFS, NFS, SAN
  • Experience with Linux operating systems, primarily RHEL/CentOS and Ubuntu
  • Experience with Windows Server operating systems

The compensation range for this position is $98,250.00 to $163,750.00  annually, dependent on skills and experience. 

This position is also eligible for a bonus plan.
