Summary

We have a current opportunity for an Electrical Engineer located at our facility in Jacksonville, FL. In this role you will be working on a small team of electrical engineers responsible for space systems avionics design, component selection, development testing and integration.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Support avionics system requirements development with systems engineering team
  • Support Avionics systems design
  • Review component selection to ensure requirements, both internal best practice and project, are met while applying industry best practice such as EEE-INST-002
  • Support coordinating of interfaces and technical budgets such as signal count with cross discipline team members.
  • Prepare detailed drawings/models for a project using the application of theoretical and practical design knowledge
  • Designing space-bound circuitry, including radiation tolerant circuits, to include safety circuits and all-around high reliability circuits  
  • Participating in architecture design for future missions
  • Participate in design reviews

Required Skills

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 Years of Experience
  • Experience with CAD software (Altium, Eagle, etc.) for schematic and layout
  • Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design and assembly
  • Experience in any design for space systems, medical equipment, auto, or other high reliability electrical systems

Desired Skills

  • Knowledgeable about all phases of spacecraft design, manufacturing, test, and operations
  • Experience with FPGA hardware
  • Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC) design and testing
  • Experience with version control software and procedures
  • CubeSat or “new space” project experience
  • Understanding of the following spacecraft subsystems
    • Electrical Power
    • Command and Data Handling
    • RF Communication
    • Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC)
  • Ability to work independently and with team members
