About the Space Systems R&D Team

The Space Systems R&D Team is a multidisciplinary team within the Engineering department. We keep our eye out for the state-of-the-art technologies and bring them to the space vehicle to implement the product road map. Team members work across the organization to collaborate on requirements and implementation approaches to deliver innovative new systems.

About The Role

The testbed engineering team is responsible for maintaining flight-like spacecraft ground systems, developing requirements for improved simulation hardware and software tools to enhance automated testing capability, maintaining configuration control of assets, managing the creation of additional testbeds as needed, and managing the ground software deployment configurations that allow operators to remotely exercise all the features of that testbed. The Test Asset Software Engineer will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop, troubleshoot, and manage tools to increase the reliability, utility, and capability of our satellite testbeds. You will work directly with the R&D, Production, and Satellite Operations teams and develop a fundamental understanding of how we build and test our satellites.

Desired Qualifications (Not All Are Expected):

  • 3+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronics and avionics systems in a hardware R&D lab environment
  • Proficiency in Python, Matlab, C++, or another modern programming language Familiarity with test automation and scaling
    Hands on experience in creating Ansible playbooks and modules
    Experience working with Docker or Kubernetes
  • Familiarity working with hardware AWS deployments and infrastructure

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Altium design tools or other similar electronic CAD tools Knowledge of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment
