Responsibilities
Engage in the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operations, and refinement
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
Scale systems sustainably, and evolve services by identifying changes that improve reliability, cost, and performance
Develop resilient operational services that provide key functionality for operations
Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
Participate in the Agile software development process
Provide timely support to our 24x7 operations teams including on-call support
Natural curiosity and ability to continually learn about our evolving complex ground system
Minimum Requirements
Must be U.S. Citizen, and be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
One of the following:
Entry-level candidates will have some demonstrated experience
Junior-level candidates will have 2+ years experience. A Masters degree can count for 2 year of experience.
Development experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby
Experience supporting software running in a Linux OS
Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance desirable
Internship experience or 1+ years’ experience in DevOps or Software Development or similar field
Ability to troubleshoot operational issues across multiple complex systems and propose and implement new solutions
Understand the fundamentals of CI/CD, container infrastructure life-cycle, software source control (git/github)
Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Understanding of software design, development and troubleshooting
AWS Associate or Professional Certification highly desired
Experience with log aggregation tools like Elastic Stack
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Understanding of Service Oriented and Microservice Architectures
The compensation range for an entry-level DevOps Engineer is $59,250.00 - $98,750.00 annually, dependent on skills and experience.
The compensation range for a mid-level DevOps Engineer is $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually, dependent on skills and experience.
