Team:

The Vehicle Engineering department is responsible for ensuring that Relativity’s rockets will achieve our objectives. Our department comprises teams responsible for Flight Sciences, including Aerodynamics, Thermal Science, Loads, and Dynamics; Vehicle Simulation & Performance; Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC); and Systems Engineering. Our teams architect and execute analysis, simulation, and test projects for all of Relativity’s hardware and software teams in pursuit of mission success.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive, track and communicate major development efforts, overall design release and engineering deliverables across Vehicle Engineering for the full suite of products across a broad span of product maturity (Terran/Aeon-1 and Terran/Aeon-R)
  • Engage with technical leadership within VE on major design trades to maximize collaboration & engagement towards the best decisions for Relativity
  • Coordinate with external TPMs to identify interfaces / dependencies and drive progress across departments
  • Identify and communicate with senior leadership on strengths, weaknesses, major successes & challenges

What you need to know:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in product development
  • 3+ years of experience in project management
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex subsystems in integrated products with electrical, mechanical, and software elements
  • Experience working with hardware teams that are developing in computer aided design (CAD) & product lifecycle manager (PLM) software (ex. NX, Teamcenter)
  • Experience guiding resolution of blockers or helping to find workarounds to critical issues.
  • Experience building schedules

Nice to haves but not required:

  • 7+ years of project management experience
  • Prior work on a launch vehicle or spacecraft
  • Experience in a startup or agile environment
