Precision Finishing / Deburr Technician

As a precision finishing / deburr technician supporting 2nd shift at Rocket Lab, you will be responsible for finishing and deburring additive (3D printed) manufactured parts used in final assembly of our Rutherford rocket engine – an innovative electric turbo-pump engine powering the Electron launch vehicle.   

Technicians supporting 2nd shift must be able to work effectively under minimum direct supervision.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Prior experience in part finishing / deburring (machined, cast, forged or printed). 
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. 
  • High-level of manual dexterity skills and hand-eye coordination. 
  • Able to maintain a clean, safe and efficient work area. 

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • 3+ years of experience in part finishing (machined, cast, forged or printed). 
  • Experience with additive manufacturing or investment casting. 
  • Experience with high strength steels and Inconel alloys. 
  • Knowledgeable in part QA processes and dye penetrant testing. 
  • Knowledgeable in TIG, laser and electron beam welding. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • Upon hire, technician(s) will begin employment on 1st shift (5:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Thursday) for 1-month to complete initial training before transferring permanently to 2nd shift (1:30pm to 12:00am, Mon-Thurs).
