As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers you will be responsible for the hands-on design, production, and testing of turbomachinery for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of turbomachinery and rocket engine, development, manufacturing, and operation.
In this role you will be responsible for making our products better, faster and cheaper through ownership of design, engineering specifications, and testing. The team will look to you to create, maintain, and track the as-designed, as-built, and as-tested hardware configurations and lead the processes for doing so.
Strong design knowledge and the skills to apply design principles in engineering drawings, specifications, processes, and design manuals to resolve product and process requests, combined with the ability to guide and mentor teammates in a highly collaborative environment is essential.
This includes leadership and individual contribution in the entire design cycle of turbomachinery to the maturation of these components and the overall system through development testing and flight operations.
The job requires the ability to perform root cause analysis to develop corrective actions supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as product and process optimization, cost improvement, rework reduction, scrap reduction, and similar quality objectives.
