Kepler is on a Mission to bring the internet to space. Incorporated in 2015, Kepler’s guiding star is to enable the space economy through the creation of a communication network in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) that will provide connectivity services to other space missions, be they on orbit in LEO, MEO, GEO, or beyond.  With an expanding base of early customers and our first 15 satellites in orbit, Kepler is continuing to grow and expand its most important asset – the Team! Based out of our HQ in Toronto and with an office in the UK and a newly formed office in the US we are building towards a truly global company delivering a product for the whole world.

Kepler is changing the face of satellite communications by launching a network of hundreds of satellites that will bring Internet access outside of Earth! With an expanding base of early customers, and our first 15 satellites in orbit, Kepler is continuing to grow its most important asset – the team.

The Head of Marketing & Communications will drive Kepler’s next phase of growth as a globally competitive business. Your mandate will be to lead the charge of developing and executing the complete Marketing & Communications strategy for Kepler. You’ll do this through ownership of full lifecycle marketing campaigns, thought leadership, internal / external communications, social media, and events management. As a partner to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for the budget, schedule, and objectives of the Marketing & Communications team.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in building and scaling a full Marketing & Communications function, a track record of successfully executing a Marketing & Communications strategy, and management experience.

Option to work from home (100% remote) available.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and expansion of the Kepler brand across all marketing channels, internally and externally.
  • Develop the Marketing & Communications team, budget, and strategy to establish Kepler as an industry-leading brand by share of voice.
  • Establish success criteria for all marketing initiatives, and regularly evaluate overall performance for all active programs.
  • Lead the team to generate engaging content across relevant channels for Kepler’s audiences. Own the development of programs and campaigns in support of target markets for Kepler’s solutions and future team members.
  • Create and launch both inbound and outbound marketing campaigns across social media, e-mail, newsletters, blogs, and other channels as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant media sites, press, and communities to ensure a distribution network for Kepler’s content.
  • Lead Kepler’s participation at events, from events selection to pre-event marketing, on-site attendance, and post-event follow-up / assessment.
  • Establish a competitive intelligence practice to monitor, analyze, and respond to competitors as well as market trends.
  • Oversee all organizational communications pieces (internal / external) and marketing collateral.
  • On-board and manage any retained agency support as required to execute on the overall Marketing & Communications strategy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in business, marketing, communication, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in a marketing and communications function
  • Experience with high technology company
  • Prior experience building and scaling a team
  • Ability to identify, and create engaging business-aligned content
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail for copy and graphics
  • Ability to summarize complex KPI / data into actionable insights
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders
  • Well versed in all social media platforms and interactive content savvy
