Senior Technical Product Manager, LeoLabs Platform for Defense

LeoLabs is a very deep company with multiple technology layers, including radars and edge processing, measurements, data science algorithms, cloud back end, APIs, UI, commercial applications and classified applications. 

As the Senior Technical Product Manager, Platform for Defense, you will focus on the algorithms, cloud platform, APIs, UI, and applications in support of defense use cases. 

You will be a driving force for the vision, mission, strategy, and long-term product and feature roadmap for LeoLabs SaaS platform support for defense markets. You’ll work closely with multiple LeoLabs application teams worldwide, 3rd party partners, and customers, all dedicated to defending international safety via Space Domain Awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Define the roadmap and product strategy to deliver the cloud and data platform, and common applications, in support of worldwide defense markets at LeoLabs. The role will work in close partnership with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Drive product and feature tradeoffs, resulting in a clear set of priorities.
  • Drive and document detailed product and feature requirements by identifying the use cases, customer requests and business needs. 
  • When necessary, validate designs with prototypes, feedback and research.
  • Be the product owner, supporting the scrum team throughout the definition, development and release cycle.
  • Own communications with stakeholders for everything from details to strategy, from executives to individual team members, bringing clarity to the ‘what and the why’.
  • Collaborate closely with our international sales, system engineering, platform engineering, and data science teams to tackle strategic and tactical problems.
  • Weave together features and functionality into a consistent and elegant API and user experience.
  • Regularly engage with customers and LeoLabs application teams to understand platform needs for defense markets, as well as validate your proposed solutions.

Key Skills

  • You thrive working at the hub of a set of international engineers and business development teams within LeoLabs, partner organizations, and government organizations, collaborating to serve customers in US and international defense. 
  • 3+ years enterprise or government product management
  • 2+ years SaaS, APIs, applications
  • 5+ years Defense, Security, Government, or other highly technical data centric use cases, working in any professional function
  • Previous experience executing a vision from start to finish with an ability to take a one-sentence idea, develop a roadmap, execute, and deliver a successful product
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology
  • Proficiency with software development
  • Expert at translating business to technical requirements, and vice versa
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Communicates with ease with everyone from engineers to executives to customers.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant field. 

Preferred Skills

  • US security clearance
  • UI and API design experience
  • MBA 

The role requires working on site in Menlo Park, California, several days per week once it's safe to do so.
