The Communications and Brand team is small but mighty. We’re looking to add people who are excited to shape how our audiences experience Astra.
This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area at Astra HQ in Alameda, CA.
Astra is launching a new generation of space services to improve life on Earth from space.
Astra is seeking a talented, seasoned content writer to support communication initiatives. This role will be responsible for writing compelling copy to help external audiences understand why and how Astra is transforming the space industry.
Working closely with both our executives and communications team, this role will collaborate cross-functionally to produce content that represents Astra to audiences that range from investors, media, analysts, employees, and the general public. Forming a key part of Astra’s Communications team and adhering strictly to brand guidelines, the individual in this role will deliver a consistent, professional, Astra-quality content.
The candidate should be, at different times, a writer, project manager, critical and creative thinker, storyteller, and communication expert. This person will be passionate about words and language, and have strong feelings about style, grammar, tone, and voice. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, passionate, high energy, organized, detail-oriented, and able to easily distill messages.

ITAR Requirements: This position requires compliance with U.S. Government space technology trade restrictions, specifically the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and additional regulations governing satellite, launch vehicle, missile, and other related technologies. All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicant’s status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. and California laws.
